Kevin Corrigan Nest Tour
*WATCH IN 1080p FOR MAXIMUM NEST!*This summer I went on a two week Outward Bound alpine backpacking course in Colorado. The course included a 36 hour solo period. We were each given our own area then left with only the following items:
- Backpack
- Peanuts
- Raisins
- Water
- Gatorade-type drink powder
- Pen and paper
- Solo tarp with paracord (no stakes)
- Sleeping bag and ground sheet
- Pocket knife
- Clothes
That’s it. We weren’t allowed to bring anything to keep us occupied. We were not allowed to bring a camera, a flashlight or even a watch. I chose to spend the first day building a shelter for myself, then slept in it that night. This is a tour of my shelter. It kept me warm, dry and out of the wind. In fact, it was the most comfortable night sleep I had during the trip.
Sadly, in accordance with leave no trace principles, I had to destroy my beautiful nest before leaving.
